25 Aug Melbourne School Data Breach Exposes Medical Records of High School Students
Victoria education minister James Merlino slammed a recent data breach incident at Strathmore secondary college in Melbourne which compromised the sensitive information of its high school students.
It was reported that the breach was caused by human error. However, records including data on a student’s physical and mental health conditions, medications, as well as behavioral and learning difficulties had been exposed.
Around 300 records were posted and remained online until Tuesday. Meanwhile, Strathmore secondary college principal, Jillian English, has apologized and said the school was already conducting an investigation.
