22 Nov Magecart Group Sabotages Other Competing Cyber Criminals
Two security researchers recently revealed that cybercriminal groups that use Magecart attacks to skim financial information from websites may be sabotaging each other’s operations.
According to reports published Malwarebytes’ Jerome Segura and Dutch researcher Willem de Groot, a relatively new group on the Magecart scene is sabotaging another Magecart group which appears to be active primarily in South America.
The new group reportedly added a special code to their skimmer which seeks out domains being worked by the South American group, in order to ruin the latter’s underground reputation.
