Leak Document Says Google’s China Project Just Months Away from Launch

According to a leaked transcript which detailed discussions in a private meeting, Google’s censored search engine for the Chinese market, codenamed “Project Dragonfly”, may be launched within a matter of months.

Despite vague statements from CEO Sundar Pichai and head of search Ben Gomes, who said that they were nowhere near launching such a product in China, The Intercept reported that the Alphabet company was already deep in development and close to completion.

It was reported that five Google employees had already resigned from the project and 1400 had signed a petition compelling Google to provide more information.
