18 Aug Kenya Drafts Cybercrime Law for Protection of Citizen Data
Information PS Jerome Ochieng said last Friday that yesterday said the Privacy and Data Protection Bill being drafted by the Kenyan government will ensure the security of personal data collected by agencies such as M-Pesa and by doctors is secure.
Speaking at the Presidential Digital Talent Programme meeting at the Kenya School of Government, Ochieng also warned agencies collecting information from citizens for various purposes should be careful because they will be covered by the regulation. The PS added that Act will work alongside the Computer and Cyber Crimes Act of 2018 which President Uhuru Kenyatta signed into law last May.
