18 May Jack Ma: Blockchain Can Address Privacy Issues, Bitcoin is a Bubble
Speaking at the 2nd World Intelligence Conference in Tianjin, Alibaba founder Jack Ma said that he considers Bitcoin to be a bubble, but not blockchain, its underpinning technology.
Ma revealed that they have been researching blockchain for years and strongly believe that it can provide a solution to data privacy and security issues in governments, corporations and individuals in the “era of big data.” He also mentioned that security is still a top priority for his e-commerce group.
However, he says that he is still puzzled by Bitcoin and clarified that it is not something he wants to pursue. Ma added that he is keeping his attention on the dollar, the euro, and Alipay which reportedly has 450 million users at present.
