14 Sep iPhone X’s Face ID Might Make Hacking Easier for Feds
Along with the launch of iPhone X, Apple recently revealed that it has removed the home button for Touch ID and will instead be using Face ID to unlock the device.
Even though Apple says that Face ID uses advanced specialized hardware that won’t easily be bypassed with simple tricks, experts are saying that it can be a double edged sword, and authorities can just hold up the phone to the owner’s face to force them to unlock their phones.
Apple said that the phone also has a feature called “presence detection” which will only open up the phone when the user is looking directly at it, but expert researchers say the tech company did not reveal if the phone would be able to recognize if the user is under stress or duress.
