Indian IT Companies Cashing in on New EU Privacy Rules

It has been reported that a number of Indian IT firms are taking advantage of the mounting pressure on organizations looking to comply with the upcoming EU privacy rules, with companies such as Wipro, Cognizant, and Infosys offering services that would help customers in the region migrate to the new privacy regime.

Wipro general counsel Deepak Acharya says that they were able to use knowledge from its internal GDPR compliance to  provide services such as data discovery, privacy by design to data-breach notification to its clients.

Meanwhile, Cognizant president Raj Mehta says that while the GDPR presented them with an opportunity to offer consultancy services that will eventually lead to future downstream for them, they are mindful of their own compliance as well.
