25 Nov Indian Government Asks Tech Companies to Simplify Privacy Policies for Users
At the recently held Global Conference on Cyber Space (GCCS) 2017 in New Delhi, IT Secretary Ajay Prakash said that tech companies need to simplify privacy communication to get a more nuanced consent from users.
As a reply to the government’s statement, Google’s Head of Data Governance Public Policy Maria Luisa Jimenez Martin agreed that such improvement is needed and is also of great interest to the company, especially since there are a number of languages spoken in the country.
Nasscom President-Designate Debjani Ghosh added that users need to change their mindset and understand that data sharing will help provide better services.
