A recent report by Ernst & Young showed that an increasing number of Indian companies are putting up bigger budgets for data protection for the next year, to ensure compliance with the GDPR and the country’s proposed Data Privacy Bill.
According to the report, ‘General Data Protection Regulation: The paradigm shift in privacy’, 22% of organisations had already increased their privacy budgets by 5-15% in the last 12 months, while around 25% are planning to increase their budget in the same range over the next 12 months.
The report also said that 60% of the respondents admitted that they are grappling with inadequate skilled talent in ensuring GDPR compliance.
