Hyatt Breach Exposes Customer Credit Card Data

American hotel multinational Hyatt announced last Friday that the credit card information of its customers from 41 sites in 11 countries had been leaked due to an attack on its payment systems.

Investigations into the incident were recently concluded, and it was found that the hack, which was discovered last July, had affected 3 hotels in Hawaii, and 38 all around the world. China in particular, was the most affected.

Hyatt issued a statement on the incident, saying that it has taken additional measures to strengthen its security systems. However, some tech publications took a jab at the company, pointing out that it was practically the same statement they gave when it got hacked last 2015.
