13 Dec Humorous Tweet by Netflix Highlights Possible Privacy Concern
A recent tweet by video-on-demand website Netflix prompted a number of users to air some privacy concerns and question the kind of data the company may be collecting from them.
Freedom of the Press Foundation’s Trevor Tim did not find the tweet humorous, and instead asked how many employees have access to user’s viewing habits, and if there were any controls on how the customer viewing data can be accessed, and what it can be used for.
A Netflix spokesperson responded and assured users that the company only looks at viewing trends and not personal viewing data of identified individuals.
