16 Feb Https Encryption Authority Hits Over 50 Million Active Certificates
Certificate authority Let’s Encrypt recently announced a milestone and revealed that it has already issued around 50 million active certificates.
According to Let’s Encrypt, the number suggests that around 23 million to 66 million websites are already protected with https encryption. They add that the certificates are for free and can be obtained and implemented by webmasters of varying skill and resource levels.
Let’s Encrypt further revealed that it has already issued around 217 million certificates, but only 50 million of them are currently active.
