Hong Kong Data Security Concerns Stymie China Tech Deal  

The South China Morning Post recently reported that security and data privacy concerns is presenting a big obstacle to tech collaborations between Hong Kong and mainland China.

Schubert Lou, chief global information officer of China’s biggest online travel agency, recently weighed in on the issue and said that the reality is that China and Hong Kong have very different information systems which are unable to access each other.

It is said that there is also a lingering fear in Hong Kong residents that their personal information might be misused or inadequately protected by companies in the mainland.
