Google Docs Users Raise Privacy Concerns Due to Lockout Issues

Earlier this week, a number of users reported being locked out randomly by Google Docs. They also received an error message saying that they have been found to be in violation of Google’s Terms of Service.

Google issued a statement clarifying that the issue was caused by a code push which unintentionally flagged a small number of Google Docs. However, users immediately took to Twitter, voicing their concerns over the privacy-related implications that the incident had raised.

Cloud expert Dana Gardner said that it shows that Google may be using advanced machine learning and AI to examine information in the cloud, and users need to be keenly aware of the possibility that the content they create and manage on such services may be evaluated.
