Google Changes Help Page After Location Tracking Issue

The Associated Press reported this week that Google had updated its Help Page to clarify how its Location History settings work.

On the page, Google said that the setting does not affect other location services on the user’s device, like Google Location Services and Find My Device. However, some location data may be saved as part of the user’s activity on other services, like Search and Maps.

The clarification comes after AP’s revelation that users will not be able to easily turn off tracking on Android. Fortune meanwhile suggested that users turn off app and website tracking by going into their Google Account, then into Manage Your Google Activity. Users can then pause their Web and App Activity under Activity Controls.
