03 Oct Google CFO: Privacy Very Important for Google Since Inception
At Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit this week, Google CFO Ruth Porat said that recent criticisms being hurled at the company were very unfair and the search giant has always regarded privacy with the utmost importance since its inception.
Porat said that the company was one of the first to give users substantial privacy controls for their data, and “respect the user” had been an internal key mantra.
She also said that Google and its peers should strive to constantly raise the bar higher for themselves, and that investing in the right foundations of data analytics systems would give organizations a clear, unencumbered view so they can make better business decisions.
