Google CEO Advocates Free Cross-Border Data Flow

In a letter to India’s IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, Google CEO Sundar Pichai said that he was advocating for free cross-border data flows as it will encourage companies to invest in the country’s digital economy, and benefit startups that want to expand globally.

Prasad also assured the IT Minister that Google is still committed to being part of India’s growth story.

Prasad’s message coincides with the India’s government’s statement, reiterating its stand on data privacy and online platforms that influence free choice in the country.
