11 May Google CEO Addresses Privacy Concerns at Developer Event
At the recently held Google I/O event, CEO Sundar Pichai tried to address privacy concerns surrounding the company and persuade developers to help build software for the search giant despite the increasing scrutiny from lawmakers and the public.
It was noted that Pichai addressed one particularly problematic issue where recent advances in the industry now allows the possibility of pinpointing a person holding an Android gadget with accuracy down to a few feet.
Pichai had already reassured investors last month that they had a “robust and strong privacy program” at Google. However, the company had been criticized for giving Android app creators access to a sea of personal information which includes location history and some shopping behavior.
