Gigabytes of Sensitive Client Data Left Exposed by “House of Cards” Publisher

The Kromtech Security Research Center recently found a backup drive with gigabytes of sensitive client and company data completely left completely exposed to the public on the Internet.

The drive apparently was the property of UK literary agency Bell Lomax Moreton which represents a number of high profile clients including the author of the novel “House of Cards”. Kromtech revealed that the drive contained sensitive and confidential information which included the company’s core financial files, ledgers, archived inboxes of executives, contracts, royalty details, and client financial information.

The agency thanked Kromtech for the discovery, but refused to give a statement on the matter.
