12 Jul German Authorities Seize Names, Bank Details of TorServers Donors
The German Federal Police have reportedly seized the names and bank details of European donors to TorServers.net after it had raided four homes and a lawyers office in Dresden.
Armed with a warrant, the police investigated the privacy activist group RiseUp after a left-wing blog called “Krawalltouristen” used their anonymous email and VPN services to organize a protest of the far-right AfD party.
The investigation led to a raid of another organization called Zwiebelfreunde disguised as a ‘tenuous’ financial link to RiseUp. It was said that the significant overreach enabled them to seize documentation from a range of internet privacy projects.
