FTC: Erase Personal Data in Car Before Selling

The Federal Trade Commission recently warned vehicle owners to erase the personal data in their cars before selling it.

Jenn Love of the Better Business Bureau likewise said that modern vehicles now store a lot of information on the owner, and those who do not do a factory reset before selling their cars risk giving away their personal and private information such as their contact lists, navigation data, and subscriptions.

Moss BMW advises the same, but said that they do delete all the private information saved in one’s vehicle after it’s traded in.
