24 Nov Firefox to Add Feature That Warns User of Breached Sites
A new security feature which will warn users if a site has had a data breach may soon be added to Firefox.
The feature will use data from breach verification website “Have I Been Pwned?”. Site owner Troy Hunt revealed that he has been working with Mozilla engineers and are looking into various models with the intent to surface data about user exposure directly in the browser.
Work on the project was started just recently and the code to show the warnings are currently managed separately as an add-on.
The code is available on GitHub and can be compiled and imported into Firefox Developer Edition.
