22 Dec Facebook’s New Facial Recognition Feature Worries Privacy Experts
Privacy expert have recently expressed their concerns regarding Facebookâs new facial recognition feature which alerts the user if their photo gets uploaded or used on the platform without their consent.
Facebook touts that the feature should help users take control of how their photo is used on the platform. However, it had been suggested that facial recognition had long been implemented on Facebook, and the social networking giant has become a powerhouse of important, intensely personal data.
The feature is not yet allowed in Canada or Europe, where privacy laws are stricter, and these countries have also called out Facebook over privacy concerns as well.
