Facebook Wants Cambridge Analytica Class-Action Dismissed

Facebook recently wrote to U.S. District Court Judge Vince Chhabria in the Northern District of California seeking the dismissal of a class-action privacy complaint over its role in the Cambridge Analytica data scandal.

The tech firm reasoned that while the incident drew public attention to the policy implications of data sharing online, Facebook’s role does not give rise to a viable cause of action.

It added that the policy and social issues raised in the complaint are the subject of Congressional hearings, regulatory inquiries, and robust public discourse where it belongs.
