28 Nov Facebook, Twitter Take Action Against Babysitting App
Facebook and Twitter had reportedly taken action on a babysitting app from a California-based company called Predictim over personal data privacy concerns.
The company claims to offer a babysitter vetting service where it provides a score out of 5 based on the applicant’s social media activity. However, Facebook revoked the apps access to user data earlier this month and said that the company had been violating the platform’s privacy rules. Meanwhile, Twitter blocked Predictim altogether.
Predictim CEO Sal Parsa defended the firm’s actions and said that everyone looks people up on social media and Google, and what they did was to merely automate the process.
