25 Aug Facebook Suspends 400 Apps Over Data Sharing Concerns
Facebook announced this week that it has suspended 400 apps due to possible data misuse. It was noted that this is twice the number the company cited last May.
One app, myPersonality, had already been handed a full ban as the developer declined a full audit, according to the company. Facebook added that the app was used to gather and share information with researchers as well as companies with only limited protections in place.
The myPersonality app had already been suspended in April and is reportedly connected to the Cambridge University Psychometrics Centre.
