16 May Facebook Suspends 200 Apps in Data Misuse Investigation
Facebook announced last Monday that it has suspended around 200 apps that may have abused user data in a comprehensive review of apps that had access to a large amount of user data prior to the company’s change in policy in 2014.
Facebook VP of product partnerships Ime Archibong further revealed that the company has created a webpage where users can check if a banned app had collected their information. Archibong added that while the company is still working to find all apps that may have misused data from the platform, they wish to assure users that the investigation is as thorough and timely as possible.
