Facebook Asks Users to Upload Personal Nudes to Fight “Revenge Porn”

Facebook is currently testing a new feature in Australia where users can prevent being victimized by “revenge porn” by submitting said pictures which contain nudity.

The system is similar to the anti-child-porn mechanism already in place on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Google. However, the fact that a user has to upload the nude photo in the first place has raised some privacy concerns, with some fearing that the photo might get leaked internally.

Facebook assured users by saying that it does not store the photo, but rather, only computes and stores the file’s hash.
