26 Jun Facebook Accidentally Sends Sensitive Developer Reports to Testers
A developer this week revealed to TechCrunch that Facebook inadvertently emailed their App Analytics weekly summary to someone outside of their organization.
The summary, which includes sensitive business information such as weekly average users, page views and new users, were apparently sent to app testers instead of the developers, admins, and analysts. It is said that the summary contains enough sensitive data to give competitors an advantage.
After being alerted of the issue, Facebook said that the issue was caused by an error in their email delivery system which they already addressed. The company assured that only 3% of the apps using Facebook Analytics were affected and no personally identifiable information of or contact details were exposed.
