21 Jan Experts Reiterate Data Privacy Awareness at Panopticon 2019
At the recently held Panopticon 2019 data privacy conference, a number of data privacy experts reminded the public to increase their awareness on their privacy rights.
Frederick Goddard of the Mindanao Peacebuilding Institute Foundation said that educating the educators would be the best way to spread awareness on the issue. Meanwhile, Risk Manager from Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. Warren Tombong said that there are still lots of people dependent on traditional media, and broad and technical terms on privacy should be translated to the language of each barangay.
De La Salle University DPO Danny Cheng also urged schools to make privacy a priority and said that the protection of data privacy is critical to the protection of a school’s reputation. Source: GMA Network
