01 Jan Experian Exec Predicts Surge in Biometric Hacking
Experian’s VP of Data Breach Resolution, Michael Bruemmer said in a recent interview that the hacking of biometric devices is likely to surge in 2019 due to the increased adoption of biometrics as part of a multi-factor or stand-alone protection measure.
Bruemmer pointed out that while biometric security is good, it should not be the only layer of protection. He said that all security systems can be duped, and hackers will always look for a human weakness. The Experian exec also advised that corporations employ multiple layers of security and change security protocols regularly. Additionally, they should regularly do quality control testing which may include paying a hacker to penetrate the company’s defenses.
