Ex-Spotify Execs Unveils Privacy-Focused Content Suggester

A startup founded by ex-Spotify executives recently announced a technology that it claims can make accurate content suggestions without intruding on the user’s privacy.

Brian Whitman of Canopy says that their technology, which can be used on tech apps that need biographical and behavioral data, preserves anonymity by leaving all personal data on the user’s device.

Former Spotify director of Music Publishing Annika Goldman says that instead of sending thousands of data points to a server, their product condenses and summarizes all the information and sends it as a single vector which is impossible to reverse engineer to understand the data behind it.
