EU Officials Take Note of US Privacy Shield Efforts

EU officials recently said that the US is making considerable effort to comply with the US-EU Privacy Shield, despite criticisms from lawmakers and civil liberties groups who say that the US is not fulfilling its part of the agreement.

The comments were made as the European Commission launched its second review of the landmark data pact which aims to better protect the personal data of Europeans being transferred across the Atlantic for commercial use.

EU officials remarked that the pressure that they exerted throughout the year seems to have worked given the various measures that the US recently implemented to adhere to the agreement.
