EU Commission Prioritizing Protection of Pedophiles’ Privacy, Charity Says

Secretary of the Children’s Charities’ Coalition on Internet Safety, John Carr, wrote last week to the European Commission and asked that its newly introduced data laws be amended so that investigators can report and take down indecent images such as those that depict child sexual abuse

It is said that there will be no exceptions in the new laws to allow investigators to override the privacy rights of pedophiles for the protection of children from abuse.

Meanwhile, the chief executive of Britain’s biggest charity, Barnardo’s, said that any regulation change should not get in the way of tech firms and law enforcement to work together to fight online child abuse.
