20 Sep Equifax Canada to Provide Update, Won’t Say How Many Were Affected
Equifax Canada announced that it will be giving an update this week regarding the massive breach that struck the company around 2 months ago.
The credit reporting company also said that they will be cooperating with the investigation to be conducted by Canada’s privacy watchdog. An Equifax representative said that they will be notifying individuals whose data was leaked, but did not give a response when asked on how many were affected.
Lyndsay Wasser, a cybersecurity and privacy lawyer of McMillan LLP, said that the company may face punitive measures in the form of class-action suits.
