07 Mar Emirates Online Reservation Management Unsecure, Leaks Data
A data security engineer for Cliqz revealed earlier this week that the online flight booking system of Emirates airlines leaked identifiable information with over a dozen third-party trackers.
Konark Modi said in a blogpost that data including customer name, customer email, itinerary, phone number, passport number and details are being shared by Emirates’ reservation system with marketing partners such as Boxever, Coremetrics, Crazy Egg, Facebook, and Google.
Modi said that he had already raised the issue with Emirates back in October, and that other airlines such as KLM and Lufthansa similarly employed lax data security measures which put sensitive customer information at risk.
