13 Oct Donor Records Compromised in Republican Database Hack
Reports on a hacking incident on a Republican phone polling firm has surfaced this week. The breach, which happened in January, exposed a total of 233 GB of database files which included the personal information of thousands of Americans who have donated to political campaigns.
Victory Phones, the firm which kept the data, was said to have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to predict political campaign outcomes.
Troy Hunt of breach notification website “Have I Been Pwned” was given a copy of the data and is currently assisting in reaching out to the individuals affected by the breach.
Victory Phones CEO David Dishaw, however, did not want to issue a comment on the veracity or validity of the data.
