12 Jan DOJ Charges US Man for 15-year Cyber-spying Campaign
The US Department of Justice recently charged an American named Philip Durachinsky for conducting a 15-year long cyber-spying campaign where he created and used malware to steal data, record audio and capture images on his victim’s computer.
Durachinsky was charged for violation of US laws on fraud, computer abuse and identity theft when it was discovered that he had hacked into a number of schools, companies and even the police department and a subsidiary of the US Department of Energy.
Durachinsky was said to have used the malware Fruitfly to compromise mostly Apple Mac machines.
