Digital Expert Urges Academic Institutions to Comply with DPA

At the launch of the Cyber Security forum organized by Global Chamber Manila last Thursday, Engage Philippines president Reynaldo Lugtu urged schools and other institutions to comply with the Data Privacy Act.

Lugtu also revealed that while a lot of big schools are already compliant, or are already in the process of complying, there are still a significant number of organizations which are not even aware.

Lugtu refused to comment on the compliance status of public schools, but noted that all organizations in the educational space need to come up with a budget for it.

The Global Chamber Manila is set to hold a one-day Cyber Security forum o January 31 at the Enderun Colleges in McKinley Hill, Taguig, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
