17 Jan DFA: No Assurance on Safety, Security of Passport Data
The Department of Foreign Affairs released an official statement this week on the recent breach involving the data of Filipino passport holders and said that only a Senate inquiry can give the public the assurance that the data had not been leaked or lost.
The DFA added that until the investigation, it can only take the word of the the contractor, APO Production Unit Inc., that the passport data is safe.
DFA Secretary Teddy Boy Locsin Jr. previously said that the data cannot be stolen, only made inaccessible.
