Democratic Party Consulting Firm Hit by Breach

Hacken’s Cyber Risk Research director Bob Diachenko revealed this week that a firm which handles political fundraisers for the Democratic Party has left a trove of personal data completely exposed online on an unsecured NAS device.

Diachenko said that the breach affected names, phones, emails, addresses, contracts, meeting notes, and more, as well as the internal data of the firm, such as desktop backups, employee details, and other IT-related info.

However, Diachenko said that the “most significant asset” that got exposed was a collection of username and password combos for accounts on the NGP, a privately-owned database by the American Democratic Party.
