04 Sep “Dead” Facebook Apps Still Pose Privacy Risk, Experts Says
One World Identity VP Neil Hughes recently said that dead Facebook apps and services still pose a privacy issue for users. However, he called the company’s new policy, which prevents third-party developers from accessing user data via apps and services, a “step in the right direction”.
Meanwhile, other authorities such as Jedidiah Yueh of Delphix have urged Facebook to employ more unconventional methods of protecting user privacy. Yueh said that it is too late for Facebook to implement restriction-versus-access policies and it should just protect the data that it has while making sure that it can be accessed by trusted parties.
