01 Sep Data Privacy Right Important to Many Filipinos
Manila, Philippines – In a survey taken last month by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) found that 85% of 1200 respondents consider the rights of data subjects to be important.
Around 94% wanted to know how the data that they submit for transactions and applications are being used, while the most trusted institution are schools which got an 85+ trust rating.
The survey also revealed that more adults are now using the Internet, and that 62% prefer to get their news online.
NPC Commissioner Raymund Liboro, who presented the results at the recently held DP06, says that the results of the survey confirm that Filipinos value privacy.
