28 Jun Fear on Census Privacy Results to Fake Names
Privacy concerns in the 2016 Census have lead a number of Australian citizens to provide fake names and withhold their date of birth.
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), a huge number of respondents have declined to participate in the census, and refused to give authorities permission to keep their data archived for 99 years. Respondents who consented to have their data stored dropped from 63 percent in 2011 to 50 percent in 2016.
