U.S Voter Data Request by Trump Commission Rejected by State

Last Friday, an increasing number of U.S states refused to give their voters’ personal details including names and addresses to President Donald Trump-created commission which was set to make an inquiry on suspected voter fraud. The request was deemed pointless and violated privacy.

Trump alleged that during the 2016 elections, there were millions of people who illegally voted for Hillary Clinton, the Republican’s Democratic rival.

Some states said that they would only turn publicly available data and refused to provide information such as social security numbers. Many others questioned the need to investigate voter fraud.
