08 Sep Data of Thousands of British Airways Customers Stolen
British Airways admitted this week that an unauthorized party had accessed the data of around 380,000 customers.
The airlines told the police that personal and financial details of customers who had booked using their website and mobile app from 10.58pm local time on August 21 until 9.45pm on September 5 had been stolen by unknown cyber criminals. BA also apologized to its customers and advised them to immediately contact their bank or credit card providers.
Bernd Konig, director of security products at Akamai Technologies, previously said that companies in the hospitality industry are often hot targets for hackers as they host a lot of personal and banking data.
