Data Breaches Up by 75% in Last Two Years

A new study by Kroll, a risk consultancy firm, showed that data breach reports have increased by as high as 75% in the last two years.

Kroll also revealed that around 2,000 reports received by the Information Commissioner’s Office may have been caused by human error, as opposed to 292 deliberate cyber incidents.

The study also revealed the health sector to have the highest number of breach reports, with a total of 1,214. General business (362), which yielded the highest increase percentage over the past two years (215%), followed behind.
