Chinese Hotel Group Hit by Breach, Millions of Customer Information Compromised

China’s Huazhu Group, one of the country’s largest hotel groups, recently reported a breach that is estimated to have compromised 500 million pieces of customer data.

It is said that around 150 million accounts are already up for sale on the dark web. Included in the leak were customer information such as names, credit card details, mobile number, hotel account login credentials, birthdays, and even home addresses.

Customer info amounting to 141.5 GB of data were reportedly spotted for sale for 8 Bitcoins, or roughly around $56,158.
