Experts have recently weighed in on the issue of data collection and said that car makers are cashing in on the information without the owners’ being aware of it.
Ford’s former head tech John Ellis said that he is able to discern patterns with enough data, and information such as eyelid movement, harsh braking, weaving can affect the deals drivers get.
Meanwhile, Lauren Smith of the Future of Privacy Forum says that modern cars have become data-generating devices which learn a lot from its drivers.
