Cambridge Analytica Ordered to Turn Over Data

The UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office ordered Cambridge Analytica this week to hand over the data it holds on a US academic David Carroll, threatening it with an unlimited fine for a criminal offence if it does not comply.

According to data privacy activists, the move sets a precedent that would enable millions of other U.S. voters to request information that the company had collected on them.

Information Commissioner Elizabeth Denham revealed that the company had consistently refused to cooperate with their investigation and has refused to answer specific enquiries regarding the complainant’s personal data
